The arrest of Sanam Javed was a shocking news for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf. After being granted bail by the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court in cases related to the May 9 riots, Sanam Javed was re-arrested soon after her release from Kot Lakhpat Jail. A female police officer took him back into custody and took him to the police station. Anti-terrorism court judge Arshad Javed granted bail to Sanam Javed against a surety bond of Rs 200,000 and ordered her release, but the bail pleas of co-accused Taj Mohammad and Mohammad Tanveer were rejected.

Sanam Javed and others are facing charges for allegedly setting fire to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz office in Lahore's Model Town on May 9. Sanam Javed was also among the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf activists who were re-arrested after being released from Kot Lakhpat Jail in September. Apart from Sanam Javed, Afshan Tariq, Ashmia Shuja and Shah Bano Gurchani were also arrested. The Pakistani military described the events of May 9 as a "dark chapter" and announced its intention to punish the protesters under relevant laws, including two military laws, the Pakistan Army Act and the Official Secrets Act.

After the arrest of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on May 9, protests erupted in far-flung and major cities, with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf activists expressing dissatisfaction over their leader's detention. After that, the situation escalated to such an extent that armed forces were called in from Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad to maintain law and order. 

After calling in the armed forces, the situation was brought under control and after that the workers and leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf were detained. Still most of the people of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf are imprisoned in jails. Sanam Javed stands firm on her ideology, that's why people like her a lot, she is very popular on social media, she has 107K followers on Instagram.
