In October (2019), the Pakistan Cricket Board named him as one of the six players to watch ahead of the National T20 Cup tournament and he won that too.

Naseem Abbas Shah is a Pakistani international cricketer. In October 2019, at the age of 16, he was called up to the Pakistan cricket team for the Test series against Australia. After playing the Test series against Australia, 16 year old Naseem Abbas Shah impressed everyone by hitting 147 kmph or 91.3 mph in his first over. The following month, he was included in Pakistan's Test squad for the two-Test series against Sri Lanka. 

In the second match, Naseem Abbas Shah took his first career five-wicket haul in Test cricket. At the age of 16 years and 307 days, Naseem Abbas Shah became the youngest fast bowler to take five wickets in a Test match, and the second youngest among all bowlers. He was initially included in Pakistan's squad for the (2020) Under 19 Cricket World Cup, but after his brilliant debut in Test cricket, he was withdrawn from the U 19 team.

In January (2020) the Pakistan Cricket Board released a statement on the removal of Naseem Abbas Shah from their under 19 squad and in response to the statement he reiterated that it was for cricketing reasons, and that he Not worried about his age, saying that he had checked and verified the ages of all the cricketers who could have played in his under 19 team. 

On 9 February (2020) he became the youngest bowler to take a Test hat-trick in the first Test against Bangladesh. In May (2020) the Pakistan Cricket Board awarded him a central contract ahead of the (2020–21) season. In September (2022) Naseem Abbas Shah was included in the T20 squad for England's tour of Pakistan. In October (2022) Naseem Abbas Shah was included in Pakistan's T20 squad for the three-day international series in New Zealand and later in October, Naseem Abbas Shah was named in Pakistan's T20 squad for the (2022) ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

In December (2022), he was re-inducted into the Pakistan Test squad for the tour of Pakistan to New Zealand and was later included in the ODI squad in January (2023). Naseem Abbas Shah bowled well against New Zealand and then in September, he was ruled out of the (2023) World Cup due to injury. Naseem Abbas Shah also won the hearts of people with his bowling in Pakistan Super League. He played for Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League from 2019 to 2023 and then his contract was done with Islamabad United before 2024 season.
