Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, sympathetic to women and the elderly

Dr,Yasmin Rashid is a political woman and resides in Lahore. Dr, Yasmin rashid was born on September 21, 1950. She received his MBBS degree from fatima Jinnah medical College, Lahore in 1978. In 1981 he received his degree in college of Physicians and surgeons Pakistan MCPS and FCPS in 2010 and then joined the royal college of obstetrics and gynecology in London, from where she received MRC in 1984. OG and received his FRCOG degree in 1999. She served as Professor of rawalpindi medical College from 1996 to 1999, and fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore from 1999 to 2003.

From 2003 to 2010, she was also the head of the department of gynecology, king edward medical university, lahore. She also served as professor and head of the Department of obstetrics and gynecology. She has the honor of heading the head of fatula medicine unit and head of fistula Repair Unit, Central Park Medical College Lahore and Punjab, as well as various projects related to health and education in Pakistan, including Punjab Saif Motherhood Initiative Project, Punjab Thalassemia. Prevention Project, Young Champion Project for Girls Education in Lahore, social mobilization on mother and child health through community.

She served as a consultant to the World Health Work Force Alliance and WHO Project and Punjab Thalassemia Prevention Program for action process, advocacy and social mobilization for women's health, establishment of temporary education centers in muzaffargarh district and support for the development of human resources in medical schools in Pakistan, are giving Dr. Yasmin Rashid was elected as Patron, Alzheimer's Pakistan and member of Alzheimer's Disease International.

She worked as President jahandad Society for Community Development. She was also an official of PMA from 1988 to 2010. She was deeply interested in sports and was Pakistan No. 2 in table tennis, University Blue in lawn tennis and served as the captain of the Punjab University basketball team. She has traveled abroad on a large scale. His father-in-law, Mr, Ghulam nabi Malik, was a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly from 1951 to 1955 and a member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly from 1972 to 1977.

She also served as Education Minister Punjab during 1975. She was also the president of Pakistan Medical Association Lahore from 1998 to 2000. She was also the president of Pakistan Medical Association Punjab from 2008 to 2010. Apart from this, she has been the Chairperson of Task Force Women Development, and the Chairperson of Women's Health Committee in Punjab.

She is an ophthalmologist by profession. She also headed the Department of Genealogy at Rawalpindi Medical University, Fatima Jinnah, Medical University, Central Park and Medical College. Dr. Yasmin Rashid retired from government service in 2010 and joined the Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on the advice of her father-in-law. 

She contested for a seat in the National Assembly of Pakistan as a PTI candidate from NA-120 but was unsuccessful. In July 2017, after the Supreme Court of Pakistan disqualified Nawaz Sharif as a member of the National Assembly following the Panama Papers case verdict, the NA-120 seat fell vacant and a by-election was announced in the constituency. In the September 2017 by-elections, PTI nominated Dr. Yasmin Rashid as its candidate for the National Assembly seat, but she lost the election to Kalsoom Nawaz Sharif by a margin of 14,646 votes.

During the 2018 elections, she again contested from the same constituency, which was now demarcated as NA-125. She managed to secure 105,857 votes but ultimately fell short against Muslim League-N' Waheed Alam Khan, who secured 122,327 votes. She was later elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly as a PTI candidate on a seat reserved for women. On 27 August 2018, he was inducted into the provincial cabinet of Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdaar and appointed Punjab Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare with Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education.

Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf leader Dr, Yasmin Rashid was handed over to the police on two-day physical remand by the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore in the case related to the attack and arson at Askari Plaza. ATA Judge Amber Gul Khan presided over the hearing of the case against Dr. Yasmin Rashid. 

The investigating officer said that Dr. Yasmin Rashid is involved in the Askari Tower attack case and his physical remand is required for further investigation. The court accepted the request of the police and handed over Dr. Yasmin Rashid to the police on a two-day physical remand. A Punjab spokesperson told an inquiry that Dr Yasmin Rashid misused her powers and appointed her daughter Dr Ayesha Ali against merit. The inquiry also revealed that he used his influence for his daughter's work.

Dr Ayesha Ali did not meet the required criteria for the job at the time of her appointment, the spokesman added, adding that her mother Dr Yasmeen Rashid had signed the experience certificate submitted by her. Dr. Ayesha Ali's age at the time of appointment was 47 years against the required age of 40 years. According to the results of the inquiry, Dr. Ayesha Ali did not submit any application in any forum for age relaxation as per law. 

The inquiry further stated that he was preferred over other candidates in the interview due to the influence of his mother Dr Yasmeen Rashid who was then the Health Minister. Also, Dr. Ayesha Ali went abroad against the rules soon after getting the job. Dr. Yasmeen Rashid is a cancer patient but she never gave up and did not succumb to this deadly disease. Dr. Yasmeen fought this disease. Dr. Yasmeen Rashid is currently busy with Elections 2024 and is contesting as an independent candidate.
