On September 22, 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced its 15 man squad for the 2023 World Cup in India, including Hasan Ali 29 year old fast bowler Hasan Ali managed to replace Naseem Shah due to injury during the Asia Cup 2023. In September 2023, he was selected in the Pakistan squad for the World Cup in place of Naseem Shah, who was ruled out due to injury.
